Katie Light of The Light Technique, shares her advice for making your Sunday a happy one.

 

1. Use all your senses

Massage doesn't just release muscular tension, it also works on every system in the body including the adrenals, hormones, cortisol levels, and is good for your general wellbeing. But if you don’t have time for a massage, oils such as rose, geranium, frankincense and citrus oils will uplift your spirit and mood – just apply to your damp skin after a bath or shower. The scent will not only make you happier, but it will make you smell divine.

 

2. Banish negative thoughts

The best possible way to change your thought pattern is to flip negative thoughts on their head. Easier said then done, but if you do it often enough, you will start to change your mind’s old pattern of behavior for a more confident, positive one. Start with creating either a simple sentence that you can say to yourself (out loud - to make it real!) or a visualisation. Ask yourself what inner beauty and acceptance is like for you? What would it look, feel or sound like? What do you associate with it? Use these questions as the foundation and every day visualise or say what will invoke that feeling.

 

3. Practice gratitude

Say thank you for at least five things you are grateful for each day. It is such an easy process and it creates an open door for more beautiful things/people/situations to come into your life. It also helps keep you in the present, rather than dwelling on the past or rushing into the future without noticing the special moments right in front of you.
