When was the last time you took some time out, just for you?
Perhaps it was a couple of weeks ago at our event The art of you? No? What could possibly be more important?! Well just in case you didn't make it, here's a little recap.
Hub Dot's usual electric atmosphere was swapped for one of tranquility and inner calm at bhuti, a very special new wellbeing retreat in Richmond.
We all relaxed right away with a guided meditation from bhuti founder Samantha Trinder, who opened with her story of how yoga helped turn her life around.
Later we were treated to vegan delights, created by resident nutritional therapist Cicely Brown, and expert massages for all.
We left on a high, refreshed, refocussed, light and grounded at the same time. What made the night come alive, as always, was our community of inspiring speakers, and a host of volunteers for the open mic who couldn't resist telling their stories off the cuff. From the energy of design, to football for the soul, to holistic business, we learnt so much and thought it would be a shame for the magic to be heard only by those in the room, so we are sharing a few snippets here:
Samantha Trinder, founder of bhuti
"I wanted to create a place that would help bring people back into balance with themselves."
Amy Anderson and Rebecca Zarembok, founders of The Vine, a women's social fitness community
"Just because we may be older doesn't mean we can’t still play."
Rachel Montague-Ebbs, creator of Lady M Presents
"What do you do when you are a 28-year-old woman rising up the ladder in a male-dominated industry? You bring femininity into the office. You wear a dress to work each day and you photograph it for your new blog."

Kiran Ram, Food Mood Expert and culinary nutritionist
“First rays of the rising sun. Kiran. Named by my dad. Growing up as a young girl, I oozed that ray of hope and optimism. At 21, life changes led to the start of an entrancing relationship with the mirror.
I made a mid life slash, retrained myself as a Food Mood Expert and culinary nutritionist to support women to mend their broken hormones, moods and brain chemicals”
Laura Scott-Rosales, life coach
“How can you be the best version of yourself? You can always make changes, you can survive, your struggle has purpose – please never ignore when your body is talking to you."

Sarah Horby, adventurer
“Two Young fish are swimming down a river and an older fish swims past them in the opposite direction. He says, “Good morning boys. How’s the water?” They smile at him and swim on. Further up the river, one of the young fish turns to the other and says; “what’s water?” He takes his natural element so much for granted that he doesn’t even know he’s in it.”

Anya Layfield, founder of Live Lighter life coaching
“Our minds are much more sophisticated then we could possibly imagine. We don't have to actively think our way through things. The mind is there, to work it out for you. To take advantage of it there is one condition - you have to be willing to trust and let go!”
